Motorcycle batteries charger is suitable for all 6V/12V batteries (traditional with liquid electrolyte and removable caps, MF, GEL, AGM, VRLA), with a specific program to recharge batteries directly through the 12V sockets installed on vehicles provided with a CAN-Bus system (like BMW motorcycles).
BC K900 edge ensures the best battery performance and a longer battery life, thanks to a full automatic 8-cycles charging algorithm, which makes it ideal for the battery analysis, recovery (starting from 1.25 Volt) and reconditioning, recharging, desulfation and long term maintenance: the device can be left always connected to the battery for an indefinite time, as long as the vehicle is unused.
With BC K900 edge, you can choose between three different programs: for 6 Volt batteries, for 12 Volt batteries and for the direct charging through 12 Volt sockets on CAN-Bus equipped motorcycles. The program selection is easy. 3 LEDs, one for each program, always indicate the charging mode currently active, which is held in memory for later use.
Recharging and maintaining a battery installed on a 12V-CAN-Bus-System equipped motorbike has never been so easy: the revolutionary BC KEY-LESS direct connection system allows to connect the charger directly to 12V DIN 4165 cigar sockets (installed on BMW motorcycles), without having to turn the key nor to turn on the instrument panel. BC K900 edge delivers a maximum current of 1 Amp and is suitable for all 6/12 Volt batteries from 1.2Ah to 100Ah. A couple of LEDs indicate the charging cycle executed as well as any functioning error in real time.
BC K900 edge does not produce sparks and it is protected against short circuit, reverse polarity, overcharging and overheating. The warranty is extended to 3 years.
BC K900 Edge is managed by a latest generation microprocessor, which is in charge of monitoring the battery parameters in real time and to execute a new multi-cycle charging algorithm of 8 cycles:
• Initialization: the device verifies that the battery is in optimal condition to be recharged / recovered and makes sure that there are no short circuits between one or more cells of the battery.
• Recovery: if the battery is deep discharged (battery voltage starting from 1.25V), the device tries to recover it, taking it back to a higher voltage.
• Soft Charge: if the battery is very low, the device provides a light pulse current, to allow the battery to overcome the critical phase.
• Bulk Charge: the device provides full current to the battery, recovering about 85%-90% of the battery capacity.
• Desulfation/Absorption: in order to recover the remaining 10-15% of the battery capacity, the device provides a "controlled overcharge" through the desulfation / recovery of lead-acid cells (for mild or medium levels of sulfation).
• Battery Analysis: the device interrupts the power supply for a few tens of minutes and verifies that the battery can retain the charge received during the previous cycles.
• Maintenance: thanks to a specifically designed electronic circuit, the device maintains the battery during periods of inactivity, without overheating, overcharging and loss of water/electrolyte.
• Equalization: this step is carried out every 30 days in order to balance the battery cells, thus avoiding electrolyte stratification.
